Pre-construction · July 2026 · see source date

The public record

The City describes gradual purchases from willing property owners at fair-market value established by independent appraisals. Acquired sites are intended to become additional open space.

The project page reports $5.435 million in grant awards: $4.85 million from California State Parks and $585,000 through LA County Measure A. These are grant totals, separate from the annual capital figure.

The published phases anticipate demolition and open-space work in 2026 and additional acquisition in 2027. New amenities, parking and further green space remain contingent on funding. The child development center relocation site is not yet identified on the project page.

Questions to keep following

  • Which acquisition and demolition milestones have been completed?
  • What is the plan for relocating the child development center?
  • When will neighbors be asked to choose future amenities?
A plan is a starting point. Published timelines are projections unless a source explicitly confirms a milestone. This page does not certify completion, expenditure, or outcomes.
