THREE WAYS TO BE HEARD

Public comment, made practical.

01 / IN PERSON

Come to the meeting.

Check the agenda for the venue. Sign up at the digital kiosk at the Council Chamber entrance. The City’s published rules give each speaker three minutes.

02 / FROM HOME

Join remotely.

Use the Zoom link or call-in details on the agenda. Raise your hand in Zoom. By telephone, use *9 to request to speak and *6 to mute or unmute.

03 / IN WRITING

Send a focused comment.

Email publiccomments@cityofartesia.us before noon on meeting day. Comments are given to the Council and made available for public review.

At regular meetings, public comment can address agenda and non-agenda matters. Special-meeting comments are limited to agenda items. Read the current meeting instructions before participating.
A DOCUMENTED RECORD

Selected council actions.

Actions from published City meeting summaries. These are selected decisions, rather than a complete roll-call voting record. Individual votes are not inferred.

  1. FY2026–27 budget adopted

The City’s budget page records adoption at the June 8 Council meeting. Use the budget documents to distinguish operating spending, restricted funds and capital allocations.

  2. Little India corridor designated

The official Council recap records a resolution designating Pioneer Boulevard between 183rd and 188th Streets as Little India.

  3. FY2025–26 midyear adjustments approved

Council approved adjustments to the preceding fiscal-year budget. A midyear amendment should be read alongside the original adopted budget.

  4. Downtown plan ordinance adopted

Council adopted the Downtown Specific Plan ordinance and amendments to the General Plan and Zoning Code, following July’s environmental resolution and first reading.

  5. Downtown environmental resolution approved

Council adopted the Final Environmental Impact Report resolution and held the first reading of the Downtown Specific Plan ordinance.

BEYOND THE COUNCIL

Planning decisions matter, too.

The Planning Commission normally meets on the third Tuesday at 7 p.m. Its agendas are in the same City meeting portal. Verify each meeting’s date and location.
