On July 14, 2025, Council adopted the environmental resolution and held the first reading of the plan ordinance. On August 11, it adopted the ordinance and related General Plan and Zoning Code amendments.
The official page provides the adopted plan, environmental documents and earlier studies. Plan adoption does not establish approval, financing or completion of every future development.
Residents and business owners can send planning questions to Planning@cityofartesia.us and review individual applications through the City’s agenda process.

- Which individual projects are moving from the plan to applications?
- How will walking routes, local businesses and access be supported?
- What additional public hearings are required for each proposal?
A plan is a starting point. Published timelines are projections unless a source explicitly confirms a milestone. This page does not certify completion, expenditure, or outcomes.
